I noticed in the lesson regarding ませんでした (http://www.textfugu.com/season-3/doing2/8-8/#top) that the particle を is used for the verb 出ます (to exit). Here is the sentence:

    スーパー を でましたか?

From what I understand, に is intended to be used with verbs associated with movement, and I figured that it would therefore be applied to a verb meaning to exit. Especially considering that に is used alongside the verb 入りま (to enter) would it not make sense for the situation with 出ます to be the same?

I am mostly just curious if the word doesn’t literally mean to exit, and therefore isn’t actually considered a movement verb, or if this is just an exception.

    Thanks!!

In this particular case of 出ます, を should be used because を can also indicate an area traversed.
As for 入ります, に is usually used regardless.
