Hi everyone,
I made a post on Lang 8 which contained the sentence:
仕事の後友達と一緒に会うつもりです
Which I intended to mean: ” After work I plan to meet with my friends.”I got three different corrections for this sentence so I’m not sure which is right/most sensible. The first marker said that the sentence was correct. The second marker said that it should be:
仕事の後に友達と会うつもりです
And the third marker said it should be:
仕事の後は友達と会うつもりです
Any idea what would be best? Thanks!
They’ve all got slightly different emphasis.
The first puts more emphasis on the meeting-up, since it reiterates the 一緒に. The second doesn’t really have any particular emphasis. The third puts the emphasis on the fact that it’s after work when you plan to meet up with your friends.
