    Hi all!

    I’ve just been finishing the practice section of 2-6, and one of the sentences threw me off a bit. Specifically, the sentence 十は七じゃありません. In the reading of the sentence, it uses the おん reading for 十, but the くん reading for 七.

    I did read in this thread that しちにん and ななにん were pretty much interchangeable readings for 七人 – is this the same thing? Is there a more broad “七 is a bit weird” exception, or am I missing something (or just being stupid)?

    七 is a bit weird. =)

    四 too, to a lesser extent, but that’s because し is a homophone for 死.

    Thanks! That was what I was hoping. I did spend a little while trying to figure out whether I’d missed some magical rule somewhere that made it なな. And free trivia with the answer too! I’m not quite up to the lofty heights of five-stroke kanji yet, but I’ll keep it in mind for when confusion over 四 (almost inevitably) strikes me!
