Hello everybody, I’m Dylan an I’m excited to be here and ready to learn.

I have a deep passion for language learning as it feeds my desire to meet new people and get exposed to new cultures. Officially I have a Bachelor of Arts in German from my University. I am currently most fluent in German as a foreign language and it will play a big part in my future career. However I fully intend to learn many more languages in my lifetime and Japanese is one of them.

I grew up around JRPGs, Anime, and Manga and as I grew up a little I sorta forgot about it and set it aside, not really meaning to. I want to get back into that stuff, but I have a goal now to actually learn the language and experience these media through it’s original language. Also I have Japanese friends who would really be thrilled to see me communicating in their language. What’s more important than this is keeping in contact with my brother who is advanced in the Japanese language and will be working in Japan for the next few years. I think learning Japanese will be a neat way to interact with him over Skype and he will definitely appreciate my effort learning the language.

I hope to share what I learn with you all here as well. To me there is no greater pleasure than successfully communicating in another language.
