Welp, I made it to Season 2 page 7-9 where it asks us to make a list of people we know and their occupations so we can say them in Japanese.  The problem is, is that I can’t figure out how to say a few jobs, and after looking on Jisho.org, I still had no idea.

Can someone please look at my list and help me out?  It would be much appreciated!

    Me:  Band Director,     ???   ,     ???
    Wife:  Cake Decorator,     ???   ,     ???
    Dad:  Welder,
    Mom:  Office Clerk,
    Wife’s Dad:  Deceased,
    Wife’s Dad:  Petroleum Control Operator,     ???     ,     ???
Wife’s Mom:  Teacher’s Aide (I used Teacher Assistant)
    Sister:  Hair Dresser,
    Wife’s Sister:  Waitress,

For band director, maybe

My dictionary suggests 装飾家 (そうしょくか) for decorator, but I don’t know if that can apply to cakes.

As for a petroleum control operator, I haven’t the faintest idea. Maybe try for something a little less specific?

According to Jisho.org, 会長 is a chairman or president of a company!  Sounds a bit too prestigious to describe me!
I think you may be on to something though.  Maybe  バンドのせんせい, (バンドの先生) would work good.

For my wife’s deceased father’s job, I got nothing, however Google translate gave me this:
    石油精製のコントロールパネルのオペレーター.
Any input would be much appreciated!
