I was going thru my anki decks tonight when I came across this sentence:

    だいちゃん の おとうさん は ひろゆき です。

For some reason, it suddenly hit me (after having read this sentence many times before), why isn’t ひろゆき this: ひろゆきさん?

If you’re friends with someone, you don’t use さん after their names. The fact that the sentence calls the kid だいちゃん probably indicates that the speaker is friends with his father.
