I am not so happy with how changes are going…
I used textfugu merely to learn Kanji with Anki and now this… Don´t really know what to do, I think I will stay with how it is and see where things are going. Don´t want to spend hours on fiddleing around to change the changes :-(
Is it an interim state that the “story” to every Kanji is no longer included in the Anki-files but by link? So I will always need an internet connection to study? Baaaaad idea…

Just FYI, if the changes to the content are disrupting your study that much, shoot Koichi an email (koichi@textfugu.com) and hash it out with him.

Same goes for me when it comes to technical issues with TextFugu.

An email to me or Koichi usually goes a lot farther than a forum post.

To deal with the Kanji stories not in the Anki files I copied them into my daily diary which I keep as a word doc on a flash drive. With bookmarking I can get to them quickly of needed. It’s also easy to review them until I know them well enough to be of use.
My studies here were disrupted a few days but it gave me a chance to go back to my Michel Thomas Method lessons for some review.

Daww no more pretty pictures in the table of contents :<
I iz sad fishy nao :<
Layout-wise I think I preferred the layout from like a year back or so the most, so maybe I'm just weird.

[EDIT: I feel like every update makes the website look simpler, and although for a lot of websites that's a good thing, it isn't always, and the site wasn't that crowded to begin with.. It looks a little cheap to me.]

I like minimalistic designs! I thought the old one was rather minimalistic while still being stylish and having nice brightful (is that a word?) pictures etc. Now it’s even more minimalistic – I’m guessing it’s for an upcoming smart phone app or better mobile/pad support?

I’m not saying this change is bad, but it feels less “inviting” and happy when it lost pictures etc. Might just be because I’m not used to it yet either, so just a matter of time perhaps.
Before logging in though.. rethink that design at least :P

Someone mentioned the navigation, and I feel that I really miss under-menus for which page I’m on in a specific chapter.
Lets say I’m on season 4 -> Entering chapter 2 -> going forward to page 3..
From the Table of contents I can choose page, but when I’m already on a page I can’t simply skip to page 5 unless I click “前 ->” a few times (I could fiddle with the URL in the browser, but naah).
Perhaps a line of buttons for the pages, [1][2][3][4][5] for example, just like on the Table of contents. It’d probably reduce the amount of page-loads, too, but that’s perhaps not any concern depending on the site host. :)

All in all, Textfugu is ofcourse a good site, and design is always a matter of taste so everyone can’t be happy.

Help, what is wrong with the radicals. It appears to me that the media is completely or partly missing. I would need radicals4 now. For testing I downloaded 1 to 4. 1 and 2 the media folder is totally empty. 3 and 4 have only 2 pictures in media, no text explanation anymore. I had tried to get this dropbox thing to work which does not work at all and may be the root cause of the problems. Please let me know if anybody else has problems with the radicals media. This would help me troubleshooting. Thanks a lot.

I think that everything is working as it should be. There isn’t any audio for the radicals decks, so it’s not surprising that there’s nothing in the media folders for 1- and 2-stroke radicals.

The two pictures in the media folder for 3- and 4-strokes should match up with cards in the deck.

Hi, ok thanks for the quick response. However, before there was always the memory text for the radical, also radicals4 is certainly more than only two radicals. Well I downloaded #4 and will test the deck tomorrow. If the text for the radicals is no longer in the Anki decks may be you can just make it available as a pdf. I study on the bus without internet. The new Kanji/Radicals page is very nice but does require web access. Thanks

If you’re missing the memory text for radicals, shoot Koichi an email about it (koichi@textfugu.com). I’m more about helping out with the technical problems of TextFugu, all of the content is up to Koichi

This is about Tofugu… I hate the new-new blog layout, the first change was cool, this one is all disorganized and lame… . I can’t even enjoy the post because its so dissatisfying to look at. (u__u)
