    Hello,

Unlike most people here (I think) I am actually living in Japan, trying to learn Japanese in my spare time. As stupid as that seems (Come on, you are living in Japan!) I am asked/required to use English all day at my work, and I admit I default to the easiest language.

I have been enjoying the TF program so far, certainly better than any book I have started and failed with. I am far more impressed with everyone here from around the world trying to learn Japanese though, I find it a struggle and I am living in Japan! You are all far better than I.

I would say my biggest challenge is motivation, other than wanting to learn so I can learn more about Japan and survive a bit better, I don’t think I have a long-term goal with Japanese. I guess I should find one. However stupid you might think it, I guess one would be to get to a “reasonable” level on the JLPT so I can throw that down on the CV and perhaps help me get another job somewhere in the world.

Anyway, hello everyone and good luck with your studies!

    Good luck.

I think having a specific goal helps.
