As the title announces, I have finally finished studying the joyo list. However, my skills are still lacking. Seeing as I have been spending all of my time, chin deep in kanji, I have been neglecting my vocab.

So this brings me to my question, does anyone have any tips for me? I can read most Japanese these days, (Mostly books, and news sites.) However I often times find myself with a dictionary or surfing around on Jisho…

    This makes me AAAAARRRRRGGGG!
Anyhow, your comments and suggestions are, and will be very much appreciated.

@Brad, I got the Email. However, I have had next to no time to work on our project. This is not to say that I’ve totally ignored it. I am just a busy busy bee, but just keep in touch, I’ll let you know what I get done. :)

….I don’t know…keep going at it? I’m just started studying 常用漢字 for writing purposes as suggested by Bbvoncrumb a while ago so maybe if you keep practicing Japanese through writing then it would help. Cause I think that it will force to think up of words that you would normally use in your daily life and you will spend time looking it up and learning it. There’s really no shame in looking up stuff.

Anyway, you know 常用漢字 right so all thats left is to look up the word, its meaning, and fit the puzzle pieces together. If you want to review vocab, you can always use Anki for that. Also, the whole process takes time and I guess depending on how hard you focus on vocab, it will accumulate over time

    Very true.
Yeah, I’ve been going back over some accumulated JLPT lists on ANKI. They are kind of helpful, but they seem to fill up a lot of cards with mainly trans/intrans.

Anyhow, I will continue studying hard.
    Thanks.

Oh that’s epic. How long did it take for you to learn them all?

Core2/6k is kind of a jyoyo equivalent? That or just read, and as you read use your dictionary.
