For quite some time, I have been looking for translations of Japanese movies/shows that don’t use kanji (since I don’t know kanji). I have been excited to be able to watch something in Japanese and fully understand it, but unfortunately, I have found nothing like that.
Spirited Away is my favorite anime movie, so I thought I’d try looking for the script, convert the kanji into hiragana, then dissect each sentence to understand exactly what they are saying.
Luckily a teacher has already taken the Japanese script then typed it into a hiragana form, in order for her students to understand what is being said. (all 1090 lines!)
After you DL the document, you’ll see the teacher’s note.

you can incorporate this information to an already existing Anki deck. Just open your Anki and click the ‘download’ button at the bottom. Then you just search for ‘spirited’, and then download the deck that shows up. It’s from sub2srs (koichi’s recommended site). They have the kanji form and even pictures of the scene, so this will make it much better for you if you want to use SRS flash cards to study this.

Ouch, there’s no way I’d want to read through 1090 lines of only hiragana. But I wish you luck with it!

Reading only hiragana would be confusing but the anki deck is very nice, thanks for that!
