Like the title says, this is about suggestions on improving Textfugu. I love this site, but the only problem I have (so far) is the fact that you can’t bookmark pages. I don’t mind having bookmarks on my browser, but I think it would be much easier to have bookmarks saved per account.
June 24, 2011 at 2:44 am #13250TextFugu needs moar lessons. Y’know, I’d like it to be a whole, complete textbook that I can work through at my own pace rather than half a textbook but with lots of little fancy, frilly edges, one where I need to stop reading for a couple of weeks while I wait for the next lesson :P
But you can’t really do much about that.June 24, 2011 at 2:48 pm #13275@Mister
Koichi has been working way hard at writing new lessons! It feels like every time I log in there are new lessons or chapters! The only thing that I might suggest are smaller Season Tabs. I’m on a laptop so scrolling down the tabs kind of sucks and, on the iPhone, too But that’s a cosmetic thing! So no worries. I know that’s not a priority. Other than that I’m excited for Season 3 to be finished! Luckily I’m still on Season 2, so my waiting period won’t be so bad :P
June 24, 2011 at 3:33 pm #13276@Ashley Smith: You must not log in very much then :P
Hmmm… counting it up, it’s about 1 new lesson a week (average) since March (that’s when he started the update bit on the dashboard), but when you are waiting it seems a lot longer :P Sometimes he’s gone a couple of weeks without a lesson. You have to bear in mind that it only takes about half an hour to read each lesson (made-up figure, but it’s not really that long anyway). So say a lesson comes out Monday (most likely the one he promised for last Thursday hehe); after you’ve read it you have to wait another 7-14+ days for the next installment. If the book was finished already, that wouldn’t happen and my Japanese skillz would be mad 1337 by now B-)- This reply was modified 13 years, 4 months ago by MisterM2402 [Michael].

Haha, I see your point :P
It probably doesn’t feel as long to me because I’m on Season 2. Ah well. My bad. :PJune 25, 2011 at 12:18 am #13292MORE WORKSHEETS! Quizes, Season Finals, These things would help me!
July 3, 2011 at 5:31 am #13597I would like to have a progress bar or something like this, where you can see which lessons you have done until now. And maybe where can bookmark lessons you want to review or something like this. That would be cool.
July 3, 2011 at 6:48 am #13598My suggestion is updating the Dashboard every week like he should be doing.
December 3, 2012 at 3:48 am #37385Yup, I’m digging up an old thread, but it contains the suggestion I would like, and that is a way for TextFugu to remember your progress. Sometimes life takes me away from the site, and it would be nice to have a reminder of where I left off. :)
thanks :)
December 3, 2012 at 4:33 am #37386I think that certain features, such as progress, may not get implemented until Koichi finishes up his Ruby studies. I don’t think that WordPress would let him do that. But I’m only guessing. I’m no WordPress connoisseur. But I will say something about the lessons… hasn’t Koichi been working on TextFugu for years? I wonder how much content TF had when it was first released. But, either way, thanks Koichi for making a great product. Keep up the good work.
