As per instructions, here I am. My reasons for learning Japanese are as follows:

    • So that I can communicate better with students and colleagues.
    • So I can talk to my Boyfriend and his family.
    • Because I’ve been here too damn long not to.

I’ve been in Japan for 13 years, and my Japanese is awful. This is mainly because I work in an English-speaking environment, and I’m something of a factory-model introvert. I don’t really like going out on the town, and I’m not a big People Person.

Nevertheless, I’m always looking for better ways to learn. I’ve been on WaniKani for a while now, and it’s doing very well for me.

Let’s see what else I can get done…

    Thanks,
    Chris

@Aikibujin – Thanks for the resources! I don’t get along well with Anki, but the other links seem like they will prove useful

@Joel – I teach in a high school over here. I’m teaching IB English Literature and Theory of Knowledge. All good fun, but not very demanding on my Japanese. Thus, this.
