Have been looking at existence, ある & いる etc. A couple of issues:
1) What kanji should be used for these?
Particularly ある I’m unsure about. Textfugu seems to suggest 有, by having ある for it’s kun’yomi, but I’ve seen dictionaries list 在 as having ある for kun’yomi (textfugu doesn’t give any kun’yomi for 在).
2) On the textfugu page for 在 under the vocab it has:
存在する（そんざいする）＝ To Exist
How should this version of exist be used? (How is it used differently from ある & いる?)Thanks in advance!
有る（ある） → to be (in terms of possession, 財産が有る、才能が有る）
在る（ある） → to be (in terms of existence & whereabouts, 要式に在る、西に在る）居る（いる）
It’s usually written in hiragana but its good to know the kanji version of these words as you will most certainly see it from time to time.

1b)宇宙人は本当にいるのか
You can just treat it like you would in English.
英訳1a) Do you really think aliens exist?
英訳1b) Do you really think there are aliens?
2a)×宇宙に本当にあるのか
ある, in this case, would be ungrammatical.Nice one, thanks.
