May not seem like much but I just finished season 1. I found ひらがな fun to learn. Combo and だくてん were easy to retain and remember. Very much looking forward to moving up in the seasons. Wish me Luck!
October 11, 2011 at 10:22 pm #19110I’m getting better with my カタカナ – and lang-8 has been a big help. My friends list has been very helpful and encouraging.
I’m not all the way there yet with my カタカナ but when I went back to read the entry of this alphabet system, I found myself able to read the heading.
Very clever, Koichi. Very clever.

October 11, 2011 at 10:59 pm #19114finished up い adjectives but failed hard at saying あたたかい、あたたかかった、あたたかくない、あたたかくなかった fast xD
So hard, but very fun :POctober 11, 2011 at 11:06 pm #19117Today: Japanese tutoring after School – I think she’s teaching me basic sentences today.
Tomorrow: Start TextFugu all over again.
October 12, 2011 at 4:50 am #19120I’m away from home in New York until next week so not doing much right now. I have my notepad with some stuff I revise here and there, and I’m using my い adjective deck on Anki when I’m on my laptop. When I get back I’m going to power through the rest of season 4 and work on 5 a lot!
…that’s if I don’t get ran over before I get home, New York drivers are cah-rayzeeeee.
October 12, 2011 at 7:26 pm #19168Today I worked on “it seems” as in “this fish seems fresh.” Fun stuff!
October 12, 2011 at 9:17 pm #19170I read Koichi’s letter to Santa, composed in complete Katatana, able to translate it fairly easily.
Very funny stuff.
October 13, 2011 at 11:30 am #19212@winterpromise31: Was that using よう? Or 見ます? Or even でしょう? I have no idea if those last two actually even make sense like that XD
My last box on Koohii is SO CLOSE to overtaking the second last one :P 7+ reviews is at 871 cards while 6 reviews is at 898 cards – it’s been so long since I finished RTK and I’m still reviewing every day :D

October 13, 2011 at 2:14 pm #19214Okay, getting a History essay as my homework wasn’t exactly on the agenda so here’s my study plan now:
Friday: Sort out Anki – import decks from old Laptop to this new Laptop, sort out both my old and new decks and make a deck for this weeks Japanese homework.
Saturday: Start TextFugu again.
No excuses this time. :D
October 14, 2011 at 11:43 am #19263Yay, I just finished step 1 of Core2k. But heck, memorizing the vocab is hard. Most of the time I can tell what the word means from looking at the kanji, but now how to read. It’s annoying. I wonder if it’ll get easier once I learn more words D:
October 15, 2011 at 6:59 am #19281Today I did the “what do you want” lesson, and did the onyomi for the 10 kanji.
I know now close to 5% of all the jouyou kanji :/ I will make it eventually!October 15, 2011 at 7:19 am #19282I just finished up これ、それ、あれ、 & なん / なに. As well as the 50 vocab (theres probably about 10 I’m still unsure on though) and just started on the first set of 3 stroke Kanji/Kanji Radicals. Although I found out how to sync up my Anki decks online/ with my phone, so I can pretty much study whenever I’m “bored”!
This evening: Season 2: Chapter 9
October 15, 2011 at 5:40 pm #19292I finished 愛は死よりも, which ended up being pretty good, with sort of a mysterious ending. The text was fairly easy to understand. Next up is 虔十公園林.
