Well Mars, I’d say I’m a (advanced) beginner too! Well done by the way on getting the hang of playing different rhythms with each hand, I know how it can be. I’m familiar with “Succession of Witches” it’s pretty nice, I give you that. Didn’t now about “Living with Determination -Iwatodai Station-” from Persona 3, I listened to it and I got hooked!
My favourite pieces to play on the other hand are actually one from Final Fantasy as well, It’s “To Zanarkand” from FFX (really good for the hands this one), the piano bit of “Butterflies & Hurricanes” by Muse (helped me with moving my hands on the piano really fast) and lately I’m tackling another piano piece by Muse called “Piano Thing” (this one’s hard, hopefully I’ll get there!). I don’t know about good exercises really but one that got me to be very natural and relaxed while playing is “Avril 14th” by Aphex Twin. Give it a listen. Hope you can work on this latest one! :)

Arashi, I just noticed you like to play “To Zanarkand” – high-five man, I’m learning to play that now :D (Although I have a keyboard, not a piano).

I had a bunch of my dad’s old “Learn to play” books, but they were too difficult and boring, so it turned out 1000x better to just go ahead and learn an actual song. No piece better than “To Zanarkand” :D (Don’t ask me how beginner books are more difficult; they just are somehow XD).

Yes, MisterM2402, Zanarkand is such a good song to listen and to play. As for learning how to play, I know what you mean, I just picked it up myself one day, it would have been harder and longer for me to follow books or lessons and such, I guess…

Wow it seems everyone plays piano! I tried it once (no like 3 times), but I gave up, it didn’t have enough songs that I’d like to play. I still have the keyboard. :/
