Did I miss something? I have hiragana down pretty well, and am now moving on to vocabulary, of the 20 words I looked up, most were written out in katakana? Are we supposed to figure it out as we move on or did I somehow miss a whole section?
Also, when creating my own vocabulary cards in Anki, how do I type in Japanese?
Which section are you on? Which vocabulary are you referring to? I believe Katakana starts in Season 3.
If you’re referring to the “passion list”, a lot of my words were Katakana as well — apparently because a lot of computer-centric words are foreign. (I think?)
If you’re using Windows, this may help you to type in Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji.
I just set it up yesterday, and it’s fairly easy to type, if you know the Romaji translation. All you need to do is hit alt+shift to switch between keyboard setups.
