I’m Kas. Apparently I’m older than most of you (28). I live in Boston at the moment, moved out here for graduate school. Graduation is on Monday, which still seems kind of unreal even though I technically finished back in December (Emerson College only holds graduation once a year, in May). I answered why I’m studying in this thread http://www.textfugu.com/bb/topic/how-i-became-interested-in-learning-japanese/ and since it’s rather long I’ll skip boring you all with the repetition.
On a side note, England is awesome. I studied in London for a semester, back in 2006, and kind of miss it still. Too bad it’s so difficult for Americans to get work visas in Europe.
May 12, 2012 at 8:22 am #30673Nice to meet you Kas. Love the background in the pic :P Very Japanesey :P

Ah cool. I’ll be sure to watch the next episode :D@ Kas
It’s the same for Europeans wanting to work in the US I’d imagine. Lots of paperwork to fill out, certain amount of funds needed before travelling, sponsorship, etc. Both countries should make the process easier.May 12, 2012 at 9:36 am #30678I’m Abbie, I’m 15 and I’m a British girl living in north east England. I want my name legally changed to Winter. When I leave School I’m dying my hair cotton candy pink and getting snakebites. I currently have my ears pierced and a nose piercing. When I leave School I want to study Japanese, Sociology and Travel & Tourism at college then get a Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese at university. I love anime and manga, particularly Shugo Chara!, Angel Beats!, Death Note, Jigoku Shoujo, Amagami SS and Naruto. I love blogs, Hello Kitty, Pepsi, punk/rock stuff, dancing, RuneScape, sleeping, learning Japanese, Japanese fashion, eyeliner, dying my hair bright colours, nose piercings, lip piercings, all things dark and mysterious, talking about myself and other things.
I’ve also been learning Japanese for about 2 years now and have a native Japanese tutor who I meet up with every Wednesday for 1 hour.
May 12, 2012 at 9:58 am #30680That’s awesome kaona…or should i just call you winter? :P I played some runescape before myself…tho not as much in the past few years lol.
May 12, 2012 at 12:33 pm #30686Heh, Amagami SS was pretty dece.
May 12, 2012 at 1:34 pm #30689posted in the wrong thread tom? lol i’m confused :P
May 12, 2012 at 2:04 pm #30693Yuna: Call me whichever, I don’t mind. I’m better known as Kaona in the Japanese learning communities though.
Tom: Yeah, I liked Amagami SS but I loved Amagami SS+ plus as it gave all of the arcs a better ending (especially with Rihoko’s) and made me able to make up my mind between whether Haruka, Kaoru, Ai or Tsukasa’s arc was my favourite and it ended up being Haruka’s.

May 12, 2012 at 2:05 pm #30695oh forgot the “@kaona” part on the last post, sorry for the confusion.
May 12, 2012 at 2:06 pm #30696no it’s ok i’m just dumb. haha sorry :P
May 12, 2012 at 2:06 pm #30697i had just woken up from a nap so i was a bit groggy :P that’s my excuse lol
May 12, 2012 at 2:13 pm #30698@Kaona: I’m split in between Kaoru and Ai (Tsukasa is runner up) as of the ending of SS. I’m trying to get a little time in for SS+ (seems exiting), but I’m currently watching Cowboy Beebop on my own (don’t know how it has taken me this long to find that show), re-watching Claymore with my sister, studying Japanese, and getting ready for college. Not te mention my ‘to watch’ list… Busy, busy, busy.
@Yuna: No problem.
May 12, 2012 at 2:58 pm #30703Cowboy Bebop – nice. Although for me Samurai Champloo was better.
May 12, 2012 at 4:13 pm #30705Tom: Definitely watch Amagami SS+ plus when you can, I find it even better than Amagami SS and adds a great ending to each arc. Ai has the most interesting arc (in my opinion) but Haruka’s won me over with the last 5-10 minutes.
May 13, 2012 at 1:44 am #30713never heard of it
