Hello TextFugu and blog readers!
My name is Padraic (pronounced like porridge, but with an “ick” at the end instead of an “idge”). I’m excited to dig in to some TextFugu! I’m going to be going to Japan in summer 2015 to conduct interviews and do fieldwork for a master’s thesis involving music in Japan, but as of now, I have little experience with Japanese other than a botched Japanese 101 course and the first chapter of TextFugu – yikes! Anyway, I have a long way to go, but I’m hoping to work towards fluency as quickly (and thoroughly) as possible – even if I can’t get there completely by next summer, I’d like to get as close to that as I can in a year. Sooo, that’s why I’m here! Thanks, TextFugu – looking forward to chapter 2!

@ Joel – Yeahhh, I guess that’s maybe a little more flattering than comparing myself to porridge and ick… :-P
