Konbanwa!

I am simply a newcomer who’s doing the right thing and introducing herself before I fling myself at this sweet sweet textbook. I am Jess!  I’ve been self teaching myself Japanese since January 2011 when I took my first trip over. Since then I’ve taken some classes, purchased some books, downloaded about 7 apps (all of which i hate) and made about 218827646 million flash cards (MUJI key ring cards are my life). Needless to say I am committed to learning, but am swamped in ridiculous materials and decided to set them all aside for TextFugu and a fresh start.

As a long-time Tofugu reader I’ve always loved the extremely helpful cheat-sheets and free programs these guys offer… $60 for this program is going to be a steal. I am so excited to have a new beginning with a program I know is going to collect all of my random nihongo and make it come together. My goals are to be able to travel efficiently and make friends when I go back to Japan in November (and meet Arashi). I’m also an avid Japanese drama watcher (best television on earth, I don’t care who you are) and would love to be able to watch it without subs. Finally, I want to be fluent in this language to open up career options for myself in the future.
