It sounds like you would be a good candidate for WaniKani. It’s a separate system developed by Koichi that solely focuses on Kanji. It works like a game with 50 levels. Most of the Kanji taught in TextFugu are covered in the first 10 levels, so there’s a heap more and it’s even better than using Anki.

You have to sign up for the site and they will send you an invite to join. The first 2 levels are free.

Ah, ok. I too have the android version which didn’t cost anything. That’s why I was confused, thought it might be something different. Though if I had to pay for it, I would, as it is definitely worth it.

I would say that it’s a good way if that’s your chief reason for wanting to learn the language.

But I would also caution you that you’ll have to be careful how you talk if you actually have conversations with Japanese, as you may inadvertently offend them.
