The only big one I’m aware of is Ima and iMA.
I also believe it might be an age thing. Don’t quote me on this as I can’t remember where I heard it from, but if I’m right, older people tend use shichi and shi and younger use nana and yon, when they’re interchangeable.

Some of them are still there, but it’s very subtle. It takes awhile to be able to hear them properly.

TextFugu will supply you with many vocab words, but you could also look at the Core 6k Anki deck as well.

There’s quite a few places to find vocab on that list.

Ok did you see this response coming:
Though it would put me out of a future job. LOL
Great to hear! ^_^
As for ください versus 下さい, I think it’s just preference.
:P
LOL. Something like that yeah. ^_^
That’s the problem with telling people you do psychology, they are always on the look out for mind tricks then. LOL.
But seriously, give it a watch if you are in to anime. The main character is very inspiring. ^_^
January 5, 2014 at 8:20 am in reply to: Season 3 Finding Time – Polyphasic Sleep/Waking up Earlier #43127Kinda. It depends on what you’re doing each day and how naturally intelligent you are.
If your mind never contemplates much more than what you’re going to be eating at next meal time and you work as a manual laborer, you probably won’t notice it much.
If you’re studying Japanese, you will start to hate Anki to the point that you destroy your computer. And you’ll be more likely to follow through with the destroying part. It’ll start to be like you’re drunk once you do for a certain length of time.
That said, there is nothing wrong with doing some of the things suggested, as long as it’s in the short term.
It’s simply not sustainable.
There’s also correlative data that suggests that people who sleep too little tend to die sooner.
That said I usually consider those types of studies to not be worth the paper they are wrote on, but…
That’s not Anki Wonky that’s Koichi Wonky. Or aka typos.
Anki gives back whatever is imputed so he simply made a mistake on the card.
As for pronunciation, best thing to do at this stage is be aware of it, but kinda ignore it too.
Just stick with the way it should be for now. Once you are much more advanced, and are constantly listening to native speakers, you’ll pick this kinda thing up very easily.
