Welcome to TextFugu!
We had a user on the WaniKani forums that was big in to that. ^_^
Profile pics are handled by gravatar: http://en.gravatar.com/
Just make sure you use the same e-mail address there as here, as that’s how it grabs your avatar.
Check out this thread for some tips on organizing Anki 2 with the early chapters of TextFugu:

You can also use the following thread to track your progress and share your ideas/concerns when you finish a season (gain a level ^_^):

And here is a thread with a list of additional Japanese resources you may find helpful:

Welcome back!
How far through the seasons were you?
The same happened to me. I stopped for about a year. I was only on season 3 (had studied more elsewhere), so I just started back at the beginning to make sure I got all my Anki decks straight (Anki 2 now).

Yes many people have posted a link to the hyper polyglot over the years, he’s pretty cool and inspiring. ^_^
And yes you “spelled” さようなら correctly. :)

Ah, I see. I don’t have experience with an iPad so I don’t know what it can and can’t do. I would think that you could download them to the iPad just the same as you could with a PC, but if that’s not the case, you might be better off asking Koichi himself, he’s usually pretty good at responding to e-mails.
Write back here if he answers so I’ll know if anyone else asks in the future.

As far as I remember you can put your current fees through to a lifetime membership, but you’ll have to talk to Koichi to arrange it.

Those other guys who posted that they finished had actually finished before this thread was even created, they were some of the earliest members of TextFugu who were still hanging around, so don’t let that affect you.
Keep up the good work! がんばって!
Are you able to do web syncing with your iPad?
I’m fairly sure kanji for names are more of an art than a science.
So if you find cool kanji that fit the pronunciation of your name, you can choose them yourself. I would say use a place like lang-8 afterwards to make sure it will work for your name like you think it does.
You don’t want to pick something like: Raging Bear for your name only to find out that the combo you used is more commonly read as menstruating weasel or something. :P

i just joined in on textfugu and really am impressed by the overal quality of the lessons and the way they are structured. after quick glimpsing though i didn’t find any of the great tools (apart from Anki) for mobile (ipad/iphone/android) devices. is that correct?
i’d love to see, and pay for an app that uses the mnemonics, radicals and tricks presented here to learn Kanji for example.
any thoughts?
You want WaniKani. It’s exactly what you are looking for:
http://www.textfugu.com/dashboard/
Sign up on the site, you’ll get an invite in a couple days. The first two levels are free then you have to pay, but membership here gives you 50% off, just remember to use the code when you get to the stage where you need to pay.
^_^
NP, good luck!
Ah, that makes sense. ^_^
Ah *that* John. LOL.
