*Can of worms* <— Opened
Welcome back!
LOL, I thought Hey was a guy…
*whistles* LOL
As I said, it can make a big difference when interpreting what someone is saying. Not when they are asking or answering standard Japanese questions, but on the more social areas of the board.
Welcome to TF!
I’m in AUS too. ^_^
I’d also like to see a little male/female sign under peeps avatars. I think there are a few folk here who are guys (I think) who have female Japanese avatars. Communication through text is easy enough to misinterpret as is, it’s even more so when you don’t know the gender of the sender. And yes that can make a huge difference in interpretation, especially when someone is trying to be sarcastic or cheeky.
Welcome to TF!
I too thought that both those forms were valid. I just thought the first one was more casual and the second more formal…
Interesting.
Will the Kanji for the animal name always be the Kun reading in that case as well?
Bah! Another weird one.
When TF brought up this new one in the practice without introducing it first, I thought I would already know how to pronounce it:
子犬
I figured two Kanji side by side would be the On reading, and thus would be:
しいぬ
But of course it is:
こいぬ
Which would be the Kun reading…
Definitely better to just straight up learn the vocab. >_<
Welcome to TF!
