Kanji are so much easier to learn through WK, it makes a huge difference. You can also write up your own mnemonics for them in the notes section.
Yeah, I would do all of your organizing and editing on a PC, but reviews are awesome on the app. Better time filler than Angry Birds.
They’re fake Asians. :P
Fine, East Asia.
Nitpickers. -_-

^_^
You don’t need to purchase an app for Anki, it should be free. And yes it’s good.

March 28, 2014 at 12:37 am in reply to: TextFugu Season Completions for Great Motivation of Heart! #44614That’s discouraging. I haven’t used it myself as I’m still slowly crawling through TF, but I had planned on using that next. I might have to to yell at Seth a bit to get him to start working on that so it’ll be ready for me when I get there. ^_^
I picked Mandarin for my suggestion as it will allow you to conquer Asia in terms of business. If you know Japanese and Mandarin, you’d have your bases covered pretty well in any Asian business transactions.
And yeah I wouldn’t suggest learning them at the same time. But you did mention you’d want to achieve fluency first.
And though Kanji confusion could occur with retroactive interference, ultimately I believe that the skills you pick up in identifying Kanji and its components from Japanese would make them much easier to learn than starting fresh. But it would depend on how you go with it. If you try it out and your brain melts, move onto something else.
I would certainly support MM in saying that you should pick one you want to learn though. Even with experience behind you, learning a language takes massive motivation, and if you don’t want to learn it, you’ll likely fail, or at least take a lot more time learning it.
Well hopefully soon you can say わかります with confidence! ^_^
If you have any questions about anything just make a post, and someone will be able to help, or I’ll find someone who can. ~_^
Weird.
Seems like it works though. ^_^

How long has it been since you were there?

I would say Mandarin. The Kanji system is very similar and apparently the grammar is pretty easy compared to Japanese.
