Yeah, I’ve been studying a bit of neurolinguistics lately. Really cool stuff. ^_^
I just tried both of them on that page and they work fine for me. Try saving it to a specific folder rather than letting it auto-download to the default folder.
Write back if it’s still not working.
Sorry, haven’t had much chance to get on the forums the past couple days.
Yeah, it’s through the browse feature.
If you have a look at this:
I’ve done a right lick on the top as that allows you to choose what aspects the browse window features, make sure have Tags selected, and then just drag the column over to where you can see it.
I’ve used a new profile, so all I have on display here is the ultimate noun file.
Since you want the first three groups, you’ll need to suspend the others.
So if you look on the left side bar you’ll see the tag groups. Click on group03. Then hit alt+a to select everything on the list, then click suspend on the top. If you then click on the white area off to the side you’ll see that they are now all suspended as they are highlighted in yellow, so it should look like this:
Then just repeat for the remainder of the groups.
If you have any additional questions, I should be able to respond to them quicker than before.
-Cheers
Yeah Koichi is pretty terrible about his organization skills. He’s not consistent at all. I’m sure at some point it all lined up, but he was really bad at making sure that when he made changes that he followed through all the links and made the appropriate changes to everywhere else that linked back to it. So you see this quite often.
If you download Ultimate Nouns, you’ll see that they have tags that will show which group they are in. Just suspend all of the cards that are outside of the groups you need. If you need help doing that let me know and I’ll guide you through it.
Do the same thing for the verbs deck. His tagging and organization couldn’t be more horrendous to wade through though, so good luck.

I used to train with a guy who taught Aikido in Cleveland. ^_^

Can you tell me which season and lesson teaches the で particle?
TF is terrible for finding things, so I’ll have to simply click through all the lessons from that page back to find it for you.
Be aware though that the へ particle is pronounced like え, if that helps you remember.

Yeah people knew before I started TF. I’ve practiced Japanese martial arts since I was 8, so I suppose it was kind of expected from me, and people would think it’s a natural progression.
My grandmother freaked out because she is/was an uber conservative Christian, so she had it in her head that the school was forcing me to take Japanese, which was loosely connected to the devil’s work in her mind. But she couldn’t come up with a good reason why it was specifically a bad thing when I questioned her about it rationally, so she lost steam and just accepted it. :P
People are freaks, ignore them.
Sounds like you are going at just the right pace. That’s one of the benefits of self study, you set the pace so you can go as fast or slow as you need to go. ^_^
Be sure to check out the links I posted you on your intro thread.
I always post a link to it for people who make intro threads.
I’m going to guess from previous posts that this is a cultural thing.
Can you tell us what culture you are actually from, as that would help to put their reactions into perspective. Otherwise, all we can say is to ignore them, as we don’t have enough information to form an informed opinion.
The quote from Xaromir:
“Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes.”
Though it sounds harsh, is actually really good quote. As I had this problem myself. For a long time I just thought I wasn’t naturally a happy person and that the world was a terrible place. Then I moved away from everyone I knew and started again fresh and found out I’m actually rather cheerful when I don’t have horrible people dragging me down, and a large part of that was my family, though my ‘friends’ were terrible too. Now I no longer associate with them and my life is a million times better for it, I’m actually happy and pretty content. I’m not saying that you need to do the same and completely cut everyone loose, but you likely need to at least change your perspective and care less about what they think. And try to find more positive people who will support you.
I would also recommend downloading one of the Rikai tools, so you can hover over Japanese and get a translation.

It’s listed under Browser Extensions.

There is no one to my knowledge that’s named Ricky who was actually on the Power Rangers. It doesn’t matter. The second red ranger in the original (American) series was named Rocky…
All I know is that there was Tommy, then there was a bunch of other jokers afterwards. :P
