I decided to buy the book, but the TextFugu Checkout page is not encrypted. My info would not be sent over a secure SSL. Cancelled.
“I think this should be free to all TextFugu forever members.”
I agree.
I’m now up to just over 500 Kanji using RTK1. I use Skritter and the RTK iPhone app for reviews. I’m going at my own pace.
I’m enjoying the process, but will admit to some frustration that it will probably take me about five months to finish. (I have an old brain, so it is slow going.)
I’ve spent up to 2 hours per day “studying Japanese” yet I can only speak and understand a few basic words and sentences.
It’s going to be a LONG road…
Thanks!
I found these iPhone apps very helpful:

There are free versions to try to see if you like the method.
Thanks for your replies. Much to think about there is. :)
Is there a “Search” function for the forum?
My post in this thread ended up in another thread. Curiouser and curiouser!
Hey, my post above was in the “Lack of Updates” thread. What happened?
Newbie here. (So new that missingno15′s post is Greek to me.) I’m using TextFugu plus numerous other resources in my Japanese studies. I paid for the 4-ever membership and am such a SLOW study that if Koichi is slow at adding/revising lessons, it doesn’t bother me at this point.
I’m very sorry for your loss. I wish you all the best with your Japanese studies!
I found this useful as another tool:
The Water Method: How to Pronounce the Japanese R in Minutes

The “R” sound is tough.
That sounds like so much fun! Too bad I’m far from Atlanta.
Thanks for the welcome, larisajane!
