Well technically you could since it is off topic, and off topic is quote “anything you want”. But I’m pretty sure more people would rather talk about something Japanese oriented. Or maybe hold your debate in Japanese :D
The link is giving me a 404 error. Help?
By the time I’m 18 I want to be as fluent as a person who has never gone to Japan can be, UNLESS I go to Japan before then. Who knows. I’m almost 14 so I have a little over 4 years to go :P On a side note: 50 kanji till I finish RTK 1 w00t, now I can start with teh vocabulary.
So core 2000/6000? Once I started core 2k, but decided to finish RTK first. The one thing I can’t figure out is how to get the sound working on that deck! I can deal with it though :( I guess my grammar is OK for now, I’m midway through tae kim’s essential grammar (but that’s usually where I start getting lost, and skip lessons, I’m guessing it’s because I need to practice those grammar points some more.
Usually, I went through one group of vocab words. Using the pdf list and a sheet of paper to cover the answers, I tested myself both ways until I got it all right. Then I added it to anki and began studying. I finished Ultimate adjectives in 2 or 3 days like this, so maybe it’ll work for you? =D
-Finish RTK by December!
-Anki reviews, but that’s kinda implied.
-Also implied, immersion.I’m so easy on myself. I’ll probably finish a lot sooner than December (only 800ish to go), but finishing before a deadline is like a head start to me… Maybe you know the feeling?
Actually I’ve noticed incorrect links in the new lessons… I’m not one to complain much, but I really think you should have someone test these things, if you haven’t already :/
1) The dramatic take over the world kind the bloody action filled ones or mystery (as long as the mystery is violent).
2) Something that’s not to impossible… For example in Death Note the only stretch from reality is the notebook itself.
3) n/a
4) The ones who have a goal to change the world for the better like Code Geass and the ones who just like being with their friend like ひぐらしのなく頃に.
5) I like to balance flaws with power, I mean I don’t want the character to very easily resolve the problem or to die/be defeated right away.
6) I’d go for the group quest once. Both are easy to associate yourself with, but the group ones are more sentimental (you get more attached to the characters).
7) There can never be too much fan service, as long as it doesn’t go into the 18+… which hasn’t happened with any anime I’ve seen…Oh my god, if you are gonna read a visual novel, start with ひぐらしのなく頃に, that is… THE BEST VISUAL NOVEL OUT THERE. No sick girly romance crap, but a sick and twisted psychological thriller, until the mystery is unraveled… Yeah… I really do recommend it.
BTW reading that visual novel in Japanese is one of my goals.
I’d say they are even better than manga. Maybe it’s because they resemble an actual novel, which I really love!

You can always unlock the kanji form of the word so anki will test you on it.
What I’m doing is going through RTK, then, once I’m done, I’ll add the kanji section of the the ultimate decks. Since I already learned all the ultimate vocab I’ll just have to connect kanji with word… Seems a lot simpler doing things by steps, but of course you are welcome to do whatever works for you.
Congratz! and using lang-8 is a lot of fun!
At the moment my camera is not working, but I’d say my handwriting resembles Mister’s. Btw my English handwriting is practically illegible and my teachers always tell me to improve, but I’m too lazy :P
Spanish
Thought you were 9 :P
