Currently SW England, (Stroud, Gloucestershire). If anyone’s local we should go for a drink sometime, I see Nick and エディー are also from the SW.

はじめまして。 <–(Is it ok to use that on the internet?)

I just downloaded the lite version (chapters 1-8). I've already covered all the language, but I'll probably buy the full version because it looks promising. The cultural texts are a nice feature and the numbers quiz mode is cute.

    Thanks for the tip.
    No errors in lite btw.

I think it’s due to せんせい and つもり both being nouns.
It’s a rather bizzare thing to say, and I’m also having trouble seeing how that translation works, but I guess it would be contetualized?

Just replace the water in that recipe with milk.

ありがとう。 Thought I might be missing something, but it seems like one of those times when one tries to speak natuarally (without translating from english) and doesn’t quite get things right. like I sometimes say が ない instead of じゃない. Don’t know why, it just happens.

Just got an iphone (partly so that I can text people in Japanese), looking forward to a streamlined TextFugu. I was somewhat annoyed that Anki costs £17 though.

What’s going wrong with the mochi?
And does anyone know how sticky sweet azuki mush should be? I reduced it as far as the consistancy of say, smooth penut butter, or ceiling plaster.

Hi, I’m back with a new question. It’s not quite a ‘how do I say’ question, but should fit this thread well enough. Right so, a Japanese learner told me 楽しいを ある。I get the message but does ‘いadjectiveをverb’ make gramatical sense? just 楽しむ would be fine in context right?

Hmm, I think strawberry size would be a matter of personal preference. However, I am of the opinion that the decorations should be divisable by the number of intended slices (except for the center which is always fun like that). So 1:7:7 for big strawberries or 1:7:14 for small ones.
Ah, cake theory always makes me hungry XD.

Thanks for the thread. I’ve been learning about noodles, but sweets would be fun to make with friends.

Thanks for reporting the use of furigana in Spice and wolf, it’s #1 on my list of books to read when I get good enough.
Until then I’ll have to stick to the english translations, just finished Vol. 9, (Don’t ask, just follow the blue-red-yellow-blue-green-red brick road following the references to Mr. T).

    Thanks for the help.
As for grammar, I didn’t know much about English myself until I started learning Japanese and had to keep up with the terms. So don’t trust my native grammer until I’m near fluent in something else XD.

That does sound very versitile. But I’m afraid such subtlties are currently beyond my ability, and that of the listener. I’ll keep it’s range in mind though.

One last thing (とうとう?); is ている the casual form of ています?
