Welcome!
Yotsubato is a pretty good place to start, but Yotsuba tends to slur her words a bit, so if you run into any problems, feel free to lob questions this way. =)

Rather envious that you get to visit every three months. I’ve only been once, six years ago next month…
Aye, I love that feeling when take something you’ve already known somehow, and finally learn how it actually works. =)
Welcome! I’m from Sydney too. =)
Since when are medical placements overseas, though?
Welcome!
Welcome! They don’t do Japanese at Oxford? =)
Incidentally, while 宜しく is technically the correct kanji, the word is normally written in kana. =)
I went waaay back in August 2010. We went Tokyo -> Osaka -> Hiroshima -> Kyoto -> Tokyo, with side trips to Matsumoto, Nara, Koya-san, Himeji, Miyajima, and Mount Fuji. Heartily recommend all of those, except maybe Osaka Castle. http://japan.jrudd.org/
Big tip: with an itinerary like that, I strongly suggest you get a hold of a JR Pass before you go – gives you free travel on all JR trains aside from the fastest shinkansen types. http://www.japanrailpass.net/en/
For the benefit of anyone else who finds this thread with the same question, it’s on your dashboard: http://www.textfugu.com/dashboard/

Welcome!
My condolences.
Welcome! Got any places you were planning to visit in particular?
How does a town in Minnesota get a name like “Bemidji”? =P
Welcome! Got any plans for where you want to visit?
Welcome! What are you doing in Yokohama? =)
Welcome! =)
Welcome! If you’re in Okinawa, you may want to also look into learning the local dialect. =)
Welcome! It’s great that you were able to study in Japan for a semester – I was never able to simultaneously find the money AND the time…
