Welcome! Five languages, hey? That’s pretty impressive. What are the other four? Guessing Armenian and English are in there somewhere. =)
Welcome! Grammar tends to be fairly useful. =)
Welcome! How exactly did TextFugu manage to get a mention in a high school computer class?
I went waaay back in 2010 – I’ve always been wanting to go again, but I’ve never been able to find both the time to do it and the money to afford it at the same time…
Aye, sadly the heyday was a fair while ago. We’re having a bit of a surge right now thanks to the New Years sale – hopefully people will hang around. =)
I basically just did each chapter in order (though admittedly, I’m not sure if I ever actually finished TextFugu =P). The repetition was fairly useful. Gave a different perspective on things.
I’m a little past TextFugu’s level by now – it’s procrastination rather than inability that’s kept me from giving them a try. =P
I also bought 二ノ国 for the DS a fair while back, and I was surprised at the time how easily I was reading it. Haven’t touched that in a while either…
Welcome! Another person who’s in Japan.
How’s your Ainu? =P
I’m lucky enough to live in the same city as a Kinokuniya, so I can go in person. =)
I’ve bought a handful of books in Japanese, though I admit I haven’t read most of them yet…
Welcome! What did you do in Tokyo? Take any photos? =D
Also, how else is “Devon” pronounced? =P
Welcome! You’ll find many newbies around here at the moment. =)
I’ve got a friend from Japan who also has Brazilian relatives, who’s also coincidentally named Momo. Well, Momoko, really. She’s living in America at the moment too – Pennsylvania – though sadly I haven’t had any contact with her for a number of years…
Ah, it’s not 持徴, but 特徴. Small but very significant difference to the left-side radical of the first kanji.
特徴 = とくちょう = feature, trait, characteristic
=)
I studied at uni with Nakama, and also did self-study using Japanese for Busy People at the same time as TextFugu, and I tended to find that I was studying roughly the same sorts of things at the same time. Not entirely sure I can advise on how to do it – just think of each resource as a different viewpoint, I guess.
Ooo, aah, congrats. Where are you going?
Welcome!
Welcome! You should be fine on your own in Japan – I managed a two-week holiday almost five and a half years ago with nothing but a phrasebook and charades. =D
