Welcome! Knowing what the words mean tends to come in handy. =P
It’s kinda halfway between the L and R positions. I kinda touch the edges of my tongue to the roof of my mouth rather than the tip. Maybe try saying the word “roll” and pay attention to where your tongue is, then try stopping it halfway through.
Honestly, I’ve never been able to hear a “D” sound, myself…
Welcome!
Welcome!
Already planning a trip, huh? Where are you going? Gonna send us photos? =D
Also, you’re not Jimmy Carr the comedian, are you? =P
Welcome back!
I have to admit, I’ve been a little lax in my own studies of late…
Welcome! Practice and repetition is most helpful.
What’s happa?
Welcome!
Welcome! Which bit of Japan?
Think there’s one or two other JETs around the place. Don’t rightly recall who, though…
Welcome! If you’ve been studying for seven years, I rather suspect you’ll find TextFugu to be a litle bit basic – I’ve only been studying for five years myself, and I left it behind long ago. That said, Koichi is working on EtoEto, which will include new advanced-level study materials…
Welcome! Think we all hope to visit Japan someday. =P
Honestly, I think you’re probably better off using the Romaji input method – most natives do, and you don’t need to learn a new way of typing, either.
Welcome!
Think you’ve made a small typo, there: it’s よろしく – you seem to have written よるしく (plus, it’s usually written in kana anyway). =)
Welcome!
And India? Sri Lanka? Indonesia? Mongolia? … Russia? =P
Welcome! Gotta say, if you decide you just can’t go to Japan, then you’ll almost certainly be right. Don’t let anything stop you.
I’m partially deaf, myself – about 70% in one ear and 30% in the other – and my listening ability in Japanese absolutely sucks…
Welcome!
I almost bought a life membership at Wanikani, myself, until I realised it was $199 – when on sale…
