    Welcome! If you’re doing WaniKani at the same time, then keep it up – just skip the TextFugu kanji sections, because they basically become superfluous when you’re doing WaniKani.

    Side note, it’s こんにちは =P

    If you’re studying on WaniKani too, don’t bother with the TextFugu kanji – WaniKani basically takes its place.

    In casual speech, the か often gets dropped – in which case, the fact that it’s a question is marked by rising inflection, same as English. It’s a little weird to use 本当に as a question, though. I would have expected just 本当…

    七人 = しちにん

    Basically, 一人 and 二人 are the weird exceptions, but Koichi never seems to mention that – from three and up it’s (mostly) on’yomi+にん.

    三人 = さんにん
    四人 = よにん (kun’yomi, because しにん = 死人 = corpse)
    五人 = ごにん
    六人 = ろくにん
    七人 = しちにん (can occasionally appear as ななにん, because 七 is weird)
    八人 = はちにん
    九人 = きゅうにん
    十人 = じゅうにん
    Et cetera

    You learn 人 in season 2-5: http://www.textfugu.com/season-2/past-negative-nouns/5-3/

    Looks interesting. I’d never actually heard of those before.

    There are… means by which you can get an iPad app to run on some other device, but yeah, it does involve jailbreaking your iPod, which probably wouldn’t work wonders for your warranty. Google-sensei can provide you with instructions.

    I have to admit, I’ve got no idea if they’re still offering invites. I got an invite from Koichi by e-mail back in June because I’m a Forever member of TextFugu. You could maybe try e-mailing hello@etoeto.com and asking nicely…

    I have to admit, I’m not really sure what you’re talking about. Is there a website about this, or something?

    This is a usage question, and I have to admit I’m not so strong on those, but I’d say the use of くん for one’s boyfriend is a way of sounding cutesy. Had to Google what “oppa” meant, and I’d have to say the nearest Japanese equivalent is probably お兄さん.

    メアリーさんは日本語の四年生ですか。つまり、日本語はメアリーさんの専攻ですか。そうならば、テクストフグはちょっと易しすぎるかもしれない。

    Welcome! So envious that you’ve been there three times – I’ve only been the once, and ever since then I’ve either had the time to go or the money to afford it, but never both at the same time.

    Maybe if you work for Dentsu you can finally work to improve that gratuitous English that often appears in advertising. =P
