Welcome! Grammar’s rather important. Helps you make sentences. =P

What brings you to Tokyo? What bit? =)

I passed the JLPT N3 in December 2013, which puts me at upper intermediate.

I’ve… been a little lax in my studies since then, though.

Welcome! I have to admit, you probably won’t be learning any of the technical sciency terms on TextFugu. =P

    Ooo, photos. Love photos. =)

You can find the photos from my trip (way back in 2010) here: https://www.facebook.com/joel.alexander.980/media_set?set=a.10150482872736751.362076.551181750&type=3

Pretty sure you can see them without being my friend, but you do have to be logged in.

    Hi, Doctor Nick!

I did Japanese at my university, and while I thought we also started learning kanji rather late, don’t forget that there’s also grammar and vocab to learn as well. Gotta walk before you can run. =)

Welcome! I’m sure you’ll be ok, even if you don’t quite make it. Koichi will probably be lenient. =)

    Welcome!

You want to continue to work in Japan? Does that mean you currently are? Where? In what capacity? =)

Welcome! Where are you going in Japan? When? You gonna send us pretty photos? =P

Couple of pointers, though: you’ve gone a little kanji-nuts at the top, there – that should be は rather than 葉. はじめまして is more typically written in hiragana, too. And down the bottom, がんばましょう. Combining the potential and volitional forms is… a little bit odd. =)

    Welcome!

I admit I find it a little bit curious that Spanish and French make no sense to you, considering they’re much more closely related to English than Japanese is.

If you want to write me down that list (or a few items on it?) I would be more then thrilled.

Hmm. Let’s see. Most of these are places I happened to see on TV and thought they looked really nice – whether they’d be accessible enough to visit on a holiday is another matter. Just to pick a random sample:

    - Yamadera (Yamagata)
    - Doai Station and Tanigawadake (Gunma)
    - Nokogiri-yama (Chiba)
    - Mount Takao (Tokyo)
    - Half of Kyoto =P
    - Onomichi and Takehara (Hiroshima)
    - Nachi Falls and the Kumano Kodo (Wakayama)
    - Himeji Castle (Hyogo) – it had just closed for refurbishing when I visited, but it re-opened two months ago
    - 88 Temple Pilgrimmage on Shikoku
    - Yanagawa (Fukuoka)

Ooo, Osaka. It’s nice that you get to do an exchange.

You may want to gain at least a rudimentary understanding of the Osaka dialect before you go, though. =)

While 供 is a pluralising suffix, 子供 is singular – etymology, or something. Or at least as singular as Japanese nouns can manage. “Children” is 子供たち.
