I love the mini lessons and read them all the time.
I’m not that advanced in Japanese so it’d be nice to have some easier ones as well as the difficult ones.
They’re definitely useful :)
1. What’s an うそ? – A lie
2. What’s うそじゃないよ and what does the よ at the end do? – Not a lie, the よ asserts this.
3. What is ほんとうに? – Really
4. What is the んだ do at the end? Hint: Comes from のだ – unsure
5. What’s the whole sentence? – It’s not a lie. I really remember. This stuff is still a little hard for me. But I’m fairly confident with the first few answers
*edit* It’s good to see my answers seem close to the others :D
ahh of course! I didn’t even click. Thanks very much :)
Hey guys, I’ve got an easy one for ya’s, as I’m still a newbie. I’m basically trying to string some longer sentecnces together with what I’ve learn’t so far. I’m trying to say “I like to eat Japanese sushi”. Have I done this correct?
私はすしの日本を食べた好きです
I don’t know where I picked up 食べた, but when writing the sentence it just made sense for some reason.
Google translator has told me i’ve writing I like to each sushi in Japan. Have I done something wrong?
Thanks for any help :)

August 10, 2011 at 5:53 pm in reply to: Couldn't find the "studying Japanese in your dreams" thread #15381Funny this thread should appear now. I had a dream in Japanese the other night. It didn’t last long, and it was wierd as hell. I was walking up an on ramp to a freeway, and a Japanese guy came along and we started talking. It was only very basic, but I was rather fluent. I was so excited when I woke up haha.
The best station I found on mumix is “sweet lounge”, she speaks fairly slow, and some of it can be understood by beginners, which is pretty exciting haha.
This is perfect! When I’m at work I need something like this to listen to when music gets boring. I’ve been going on Japanese youtube and just clicking random videos to listen to, this is a better solution.
Hey guys,
Not sure if it’s been mentioned anywhere else, or if anyone can get it cheaper. But I’ve just bought RTK for $34.19 AUD. It’s free shipping world wide, and this is the price all the time.

There’s the link if anyone’s interested. It’s the best site for books :)
I think I’ve been a member now for about 6 months. I did Japanese in high school, so had a bit of a head start. Although that turned out to be a bit of a hindrance as well, because I rushed through things that I thought I knew.
I then had a rough spot where I did nothing for about a month. But have since started again, and I’m going slowly and learning things 100% before moving on. It’s much better. I’m still a newbie, but can string a few sentences and can remember nearly all of the kanji (from Textfugu) up to 4 strokes.
I’ve just started using the Jerry Seinfeld technique to stay motivated as well. And it’s working :D
