    Wow. I did read your whole … thing. You are awesome. Normally when I see wo long texts on the internet I only read a few lines but your first few lines were so well written that I just had to read the rest. You just know how to make your writing moist, I think that’s what it is when it isn’t dry.
    ようこそ。

    I wish you good luck. It sounds like a very good idea for you to learn Japanese. I hope you’ll end up saving Japan.

    Thank you for your help. Yes it frustrating but to get through it there’s only one way to go. Forward.

    I’ve heard of people who don’t know much Japanese but moved to Japan for a year and spoke it fluently when they came home. I wish it was possible to progress just half as fast in a situation like ours.

    Can I ask you, what is your level MisterM2402? For how long have you studied and how? Have you read whole Tae Kim? and have you completed other materials e.g. Genki?
    Just so I can get an idea of what level is needed.

    I see.
    It seems like I have to continue lang-8, etoeto, and Tae Kim a little more after TF.

    You don’t have to remember both the kun and on reading for the kanji (at first). You can settle for the one further down on the kanji page.
    e.g.
    http://www.textfugu.com/kanji/%E4%B9%9D/#top
    the on for 九 is く or きゅう and the kun is ここの. Under the topic “reading” on the page you get told that you should learn the く、きゅう at first, so just do that.
    For remembering it I either use the mnemonic written or I make one myself. Often you remember them better if you make them yourself.

    How many pages of TF I do each day depends on the day and the page. If I have a busy day I often only go through one page but if it is an easy page I sometimes think I can take one more. I try to not do so much that it becomes too difficult. If I feel it begins to become too much for me, I stop. I let my brain absorb the new information over the night. It’s okay to day one page each day. I think it is better to read it one (two in a few cases) time and remember nearly everything than reading it three or five times before understanding it because I mix things up.

    I can’t find it but if it is good enough for you, I’ve seen hiragana stickers you can buy and stick on your keyboard. The best solution I can come up with.

    I did something alike.
    I turned Steam into Japanese and I’ve made a course on memrise with (a part of) the absolutely necessary vocabulary.
    It isn’t finished but here’s a link.

    I thought the same. I don’t think it have to be that many sentences. 2 or 3 for each grammar point would be enough I think.
    I cases where I’m not sure about whether I would remember it, I’ve added 1 or 2 myself.

    Becoming comfortable with my silliness should be one of the first lessons on TF.

    I get it.
    Even though nothing is wrong with being silly, it doesn’t feels comfortable thinking someone think you I’m silly. But I am and I must learn to be proud of it.
    Or am I totally wrong?

    The way I think of is that し and じ are a little bit different when it comes to ゃ, ゅ and ょ.
    I think
    しゃ = sha
    しゅ = shu
    しょ = sho
    じゃ = ja
    じゅ = ju
    じょ = jo

    This is also the way I type it. It doesn’t give me problems, and to me it doesn’t really sounds like it’s wrong.
    So in romanji I would say “jaarimasen”

    I will not stop learning Japanese. I really think all your different aspects of this is very interesting. It makes me see the whole thing from totally different points of views, none of them are wrong.

    I feel fine about not letting my dad know, so I think I’ll do that, not telling him. Yes it’s a little bit weird but I feel the way that Eihiko explains about passions. I slightly begins to feel better, and I’ve found out that my mom laughed because she was surprised in a positive way. But it still feels embarrassing. A little part of my brain still whispers “they think your are silly” to me.
