Basically, × shows that the kanji is not a standard use Jyouyou kanji. ▽ shows that the reading is not in the list of Jyouyou kanji.
1 目をいからしてじっと見る。鋭い目つきで見る。「じろりと―・む」
This is a usage example: じろりと睨む. The ― shows where to use the kanji.
動 means ‘verb’ (動詞)
マ means the verb is from the ma,mi,mu,me,mo list
五 means it is a ‘Godan’ verb (grammatical expression)
(四) means it is ‘Yodan’ verb in old Japanese.
