@Armando: It’s an ancient moderation technique passed down from generation to generation.
Since there hasn’t really been any precedent set on this kind of thing, I’m going to say go ahead and feel free to make a thread on something like that.
But please, if you decide to make a thread on a controversial subject like abortion or take part in a discussion, be civil, polite, and considerate.
If things get too out of hand, I’ll have to put my mod hat on and close the thread.
There’s both うん and ううん, which mean “yes” and “no” respectively in casual form. When I first learned about them it was reeeeeally confusing to differentiated between the two, but it comes with time.
Welp, guess I should merge these two topics.
I understand that many of you were trying to help the OP learn Japanese, but please be considerate and courteous to everybody on the forums. Everybody learns at different rates has different comfort levels.

Well, this thread went nowhere fast.
As I mentioned in the other thread, please be considerate and courteous to others on the forums.

Hey Akaii, welcome to TextFugu. If you’re looking for some practice speaking or listening, we have a community TeamSpeak server:
http://www.textfugu.com/bb/topic/we-have-a-textfugu-teamspeak-server-btw/
I’m not really sure how active it is, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind.
Good luck learning Japanese!
I gotta say Tyler, that IS a pretty unconventional route to learning Japanese. I’m more than a little jealous of your work at the brewery.
Anyway, welcome to TextFugu and good luck learning Japanese. I’m sure between living in Japan and taking a course there, you’ll do just fine.
Hi Kendra, welcome to TextFugu!
Hey Shepard, welcome to TextFugu. I guess we’re both class of 2011 :o
Good luck learning Japanese!
I have every type of fetish imaginable. Yes, even that gross one you’re thinking about right now.
Hi Karisa, we’re glad to have you here! It’s cool that your friend taught you a bit about Japanese culture too, it’s such an important part of learning the language.
Good luck with your studies!
Hi Alicia! Welcome to TextFugu, good luck learning Japanese!
