Hahahah, sorry for complicated reply, then :D Learning is going fine, as usual, but now there is nothing to measure progress with; no X lessons/day or Y sentences/day. So, I’m a bit lost :) I just randomly read stuff and watch anime.
I am Hatt0ri on iKnow as well.
October 26, 2012 at 2:47 am in reply to: The "I found some Japanese I don't understand" thread. #36944かみかみ is a slang word that comes from verb 噛む – “to chew”, but also “to fumble or falter with one’s words”. So かみかみ = flater, mammer, stammer, sbumble, stutter.
So, it’s like: Your pronunciation is bad, but otherwise your Japanese is great!
Hello! Welcome back! I think I’ve seen you writing in Q&T section of iKnow recently?
On the topic of Japanese subtitles. I found subs for some of my favorite anime just yesterday, and I was happy beyond myself! Maybe you can find something useful as well: kitsunekko.net/subtitles/japanese/.
I stopped reading TF lessons in the middle of S7. So, almost finished? XD
Actually, Wikipedia has a nice page on numbers and counters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_counter_word. Look at the table in “Euphonic changes” section. If you are interested in changes that occur when number comes before ぴゃく, just look at the h- column – changes are いっぴゃく,さんびゃく etc.
Can’t tell which one is him, they all look the same to me.

March 25, 2012 at 9:43 am in reply to: The "I found some Japanese I don't understand" thread. #28460Thx Mark :D I found out what the も part means. In this sentence it means “as much as”. Then, sentence would translate to something like: “It’s quite natural to be as angry as she is (given the situation)”.

昼寝
ひるね
I learned a lot of (probably useless) slang words from this video: http://youtu.be/ty7RmPCP7OI.
March 24, 2012 at 10:40 am in reply to: The "I found some Japanese I don't understand" thread. #28435夢を見る is a phrase for dreaming. こんな夢を見た would be “I had this kind of dream”. “This” is probably described in previous sentence.

Which verb is おきました? 置く? In that case, could maybe a translation be more like: “I made a note (list) of things to be done”?

I guess that’s just the way it’s said.
