I am currently doing 100~150 a day, mostly because most sentences are basic, and I know most of the words in advance. I will however start getting in trouble once the reviews start catching up(I remember how it all of a sudden turned in to a pain to review RTK). Actually I find the format fun to do, and yeah… When having less than 2k vocab you shouldn’t really focus on anything aside from learning words. So I guess it is good that the sentences are short like まだ学校へ行くには早い時間です. I would however like to see compound sentences every now and again.
Did the sentence difficulty change the higher you got in Core?
How do you like the Core website, I never even checked it out because the quality of the Core2k deck is supreme ^^Good luck with future studying :P I guess you will reach 2k before me!
Finished step 1/10 in Core 2k today ^^
I had no clue that Core1k excited lol. The format is pretty good, and it is good for getting good to listening as well as sentence structure. I will do the entire Core2k deck, but I haven’t yet set a time when I would like to be done. Progress has been decent, but exams will come up soon enough, so I might have to cut down on Japanese :(February 21, 2012 at 12:17 pm in reply to: The "I found some Japanese I don't understand" thread. #26963it is 19 stroke, and my guess is that it is very very rare, because I can’t get the IME to recognize. It definitely ain’t 常用漢字。

「は」は本当に必要ですか?
More rules I am not informed of?
edit; yeah apparently reading through this there was a rule ^^ Guess i lost hahaI didn’t know 一所懸命, but I know 一生懸命 instead is in core 2k, and those 2 seem to share their meaning.
うどん
主
ぬし氷
こおりwell in that case just take
卯I didn’t read through the entire thread where the rules are scattered out ^^
得
う
Thanks Elenkis ^^
@Yggbert You will get there eventually, but if you expected balloons at kanji.koohi then you will be disappointed :(
石の上にも三年haha, I know how you feel:P
I just Finished RTK & the supplement kanji added in 2010. I am happy to finally be done :P
Now I just have to solidify them all, but that will come with time :) Back to focusing on actually learning Japanese instead of the damn kanji.I think かばん is more common when referring to a bag – at least that is my experience.
美しい doesn’t mean “gorgeous” but beautiful. I think you would be better of with learning that word since it is way more common. The other words I can’t really tell because there are many of them that I haven’t come across.
sorry for long link ^^
Please add search soon…February 3, 2012 at 1:03 pm in reply to: The "I found some Japanese I don't understand" thread. #26297As I said、 starting with the picture in the bottom left corner:
1st picture(left) 手洗 = wash by hand (at 30 degrees)
2nd picture(middle left) can’t make any sense of the the katakana, エンソサスン? No matter how I switch it up I can’t make any sense of it, at first I thought it meant no enzymes, but definitely something with chemicals not allowed.
3rd picture (middle right) Iron (中 = middle etc. so most likely medium temperature?I must admit I don’t know much about irons :P)
4th picture (right) ドライ = dryCross over means it is not allowed. No cross means it is fine.
