and welcome :)don’t worry, once you get started everything will make sence :) Once you get a few hundred cards everything starts to make more sence :) But yes do click “soon” untill you know the card good enough, and then click soon.
If you don’t change the leech treshold, then your card will dissapear from the deck after clicking soon 16 times, so make sure to change it if you plan to do it this way :)When clicking “soon” the card will show up in the session you are currently doing. If you choose “good” then it will show up by the time listed on the “good” button(this is usually 1 day). If you know the card, and choose good then it will take a day before you see it again. The next day you will review and you can once again see the card. If you know the card this time around, then if you click good it will take longer time before you see it again(4 days or so). If you choose “soon” then it will reverse back to zero progress.
Doing it this way, Anki makes sure that you are shown the cards as often as needed, so that you will keep the vocab/kanji in your memory.
In the beginning it dosen’t make much sence, but just wait a few days untill you have passed through all hiragana and there will be new cards to review each day.
What you are choosing is 10 new cards. As soon as you have choosen “good” on all thoose cards your session is complete. If you want to see them again then click “soon” insted. But if you know the cards, then you really should choose “good” and just move on, since you will review it the next day anyway.
There is no way to put it in random order, but this will only be a problem with hiragana and katakana. As soon as you have gone through it once everything will be shown random.I recommend that you set your leech treshold to 99, so you don’t get leech cards. Do so in deck properties -> advanced -> leech treshold
Hope that helped.
Lol a node emoticon in a book? That was unexpected xD
Looks like some interesting reading compared to the children books I have a hard time Reading :P
I am pretty sure that you can buy it in the store :P
Haha will do once I get around to starting :P I was thinking of getting through s5 before starting… I bet it will be hilarious xD
Recently when making senteces I have found it hard to mix old and new stuff together. So today I decided to do something about it and went ahead and made 20 sentences(I think I will do 40 by then end of today).
I came across one thing that I wasn’t sure about, so maybe someone can figure this out:
How would you say this in Japanese; The healthy woman ate two hamburgers.I would say it like this:
二つハンバーガ元気な女を食べました。But I am not quite sure if this is the right way to say it.
In fact I am pretty sure it is wrong, but how should it be said. removing “two hamburgers” makes the sentence very easy, but where in the sentence should 二つハンバーガ be added in order for the sentence to make sense?- This reply was modified 13 years, 1 month ago by マーク・ウェーバー.
Wlecome :P 42 days is about the same as me, and looking at your other post then we are equally far.
Maybe we can use that to our advantage with practise once we get better :)GL on TextFugu
Currently on the same as well, and I usually just go through 6 words. Learn 2 of them, and then go through the deck untill I know all of the words. take 10 min break come back, and continue with that untill I am done.
When done I reinstall the deck, and see if I can remember all the words :)
Usually I can’t but that is why I have reviews :DWelcome to TextFugu
Not to troll or anything but you forgot に insted of い :)Great Idea:)
I have 4 goals
- I want to keep studying my anki decks everyday
- I want to finish season 4 before my holiday is over(24. october)
- I want to finish all TextFugu material by the end of this year(including anything that gets updated)
- Listen to more Japense, that be podcasts music or w/e :)GL to everyone else
Season 1+2 should take you about a month, if you are doing it in about 2 weeks then I would say you are overdoing it. As long as you feel good about studying then you should keep going :) If you can do it faster than others then just go ahead, but as far as I remember then season 2review says that studying s1+2(ARG NEW SEASON?!?!?!) should take about a month.
I have about 10-30min of reviewing a day(currently studying adjectives 0.o), but I move very slow at the moment, due to not wanting to learn too much before going on a study trip to England where I will not be able to review anything for a week.
Season 3+4 should take maybe 1½-2 months considering that you are learning katakana, verbs(40 vocab), adjectives(60 vocab) & adverbs(30 vocab). I havn’t gone through season 5 yet, and I still have alot to do in season 4, so I can’t tell for sure :Dyou have to make sure that you mark the appropriate thing in the deck. You open your deck. Click change. scroll down(to the -> symbol) and then click 01 & 02.
Make sure that they are highlighted(blue) and then hit OK.
Set new cards a day to 9999999999 to make sure all new cards in the section you have chosen come up. If you want less cards then take less new cards a day.
Hit Review

Books =/= TextFugu.
I agree that there is no reason to constantly polish old stuff, but after reading Koichi’s post then it makes sence as to why he is adding more to the earlier lessons. As long as new content keeps coming out then I am happy, but being almost done with s2(s4 now…) then I would like the focus to be on new content :D But ain’t that what most people want? More stuff for themselves :Plol xD
