hello, i'm helen. :) I've always been somewhat interested in the country and language of Japan, but never enough to actually LEARN the language ...UNTIL... accidently discovering the band X JAPAN on YouTube, after searching for clips from an American 80's B-movie filmed in Japan, that i bought for $2 on VHS called Tokyo Pop. I came across this clip entitled "X (X JAPAN) in Tokyo Pop", which i never knew was a real band, and not actors, which of course led me to click "More Videos", and it's been pretty much a downward spiral ever since ...unless you'd (as most of you may) consider becoming intensely interested in a new language & culture & country, a very cool thing, and then in that case, I guess it would be pretty much a total UPWARD spiral from there. :y There is more to me than this, of course. I am interested in many things; writing, photography, film, cooking, exploring, & traveling, are just a few things I love and currently do, or am interested in doing. But since this is a Japanese language-learning site, I wanted to tell you all about how I got interested enough in Japanese, to actually learn the language. :) ~~~Here is X Japan's song "X" (band anthem) from their earlier years (late 80's when they had just started getting popular). Note the 80's punk-with-a-very-japanese-twist hair, dress, & makeup style. X Japan did not invent the music sub-ganre of what is called Visual Kei, but they are credited with being the main band to popularize it, and are also credited with coining the phrase. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adu-heRp5IQ&feature=share&list=PLyxS1iyhP76ZTp3Jc758wRlLKyeiZHz-Y
