I’m such a rebel that I’m just going to stay with Hashi, romanized without any honorifics… I’m getting the guillotine, aren’t I? Anyhow, on the topic of the Tofugu name; I remember Koichi mentioning that it’s a portmanteau of Tofu and Fugu, ya know, because: Tofu + Fugu = Tofugu. The logo on the Tofugu site is kind of shaped like tofu too, then again, it’s just a square shape, so that might just be up to your IMAAAAAGINATION.
EDIT: Change the Starcraft site’s name into Gosufugu, and use Starfugu for a chain of stores that sells coffee and other caffeinated drinks.

Season 01 is done and done. Commemorative screenshot of the results of my studying this season:

Took notes in Evernote, but also used SAI to do writing practice just so that I could get accustomed to actually writing stuff out. And now onward to season 02.

Once again, nothing special, some rice and pan fried chicken I’m about to gorge the eff out of. BRINGING A RICE COOKER WITH YOU WHEN YOU BEGIN UNIVERSITY LIFE IS THE SMARTEST THING YOU CAN EVER DO, I SWEAR.

Tomorrow, I’m going to be completely fluent: my speaking will be amazing, and I’ll know enough kanji to fill the Grand Canyon… and then my alarm clock is going to ring, I’ll wake up, scream, “DAMN IT YANDA,” (because you should blame everything on Yanda) and continue finishing chapter 08 of Season 01.

I don’t have a concrete goal in mind for when I’ll be fluent; I’m just cheering myself on to continue my pace of 2 hours of studying every night (afternoons on weekends). THOUGH, if I could be a bit ambitious, I’d like to be able to understand my Pixiv settings in Japanese by the time I turn 19 next year.

Unlike the previous two posters, I don’t have anything awesome prepared, so I’ll settle for a late night study binge of Lays:

Also, I’m hell bent on setting myself on the path of diabetes.

Still on hiragana, making use of Anki, the provided worksheets, and Realkana. I have the first 30 down pretty well in terms of writing and recognizing (of course still reviewing them just to make sure they stick). Going to continue on at this pace and hopefully get to the gritty stuff soon.

EDIT: Whoa, I have no idea what just happened, wanted to edit a typo out of another post I made and it ended up in this Welcome thread.

Currently on Season 01. Just finished up to the main hiragana pronunciation page, only the two pages left until I’m done with chapter 03, which I will continue off on tomorrow after letting the magic R sound seep in a bit more (and, admittedly, killing off some Nazi zombies). From the looks of the chapter 04 extras, I’ll begin writing/reading the hiragana and working with Aniki tomorrow too! Excited? Fosho.
