LOL at the comments about “you guys work out a lot” – before I joined fitocracy I didn’t work out at all, ever!

did you get this working the way you wanted? jkl’s suggestion sounds pretty good.
as for resetting the deck deck once you’ve got it the way you want it, if you select all the cards in the card browser then you can choose reschedule from the actions menu, and reschedule them all as new cards.
MisterM – I’m like you, always explore all the options when I get some new software. And also haven’t been using this option to avoid learning romaji. In fact where i have a deck with the answers in kana, I usually sit down with anki on my phone, and a notebook, and physically write the answers down for each card.
Ryan – Android’s awesome. for one thing, you can choose your own keyboard app. I generally use “smart keyboard pro”, which can be set up to switch between english and japanese at the tap of a button – although unfortunately it works in the “tap か 5 times to get こ” way, and is a paid app (I think there is a free version with less features). However I do also have “OpenWnn plus”, which does work via the swipe method, and if I remember rightly is free.
Not to mention the hundreds of other keyboard apps out there – give them a try till you find something that suits :)Oh and kaona, yes minecraft is a terrible disease. I spent 6 months heavily into it, and I am too terrified to go back to it cos I’d never learn any japanese then. The only game I ever played that compared in addiction terms was Civilization

Thanks for the heads up Armando – I was about to say that I’d leave gakuu until I was less of a beginner – thinking 80% was still going to be a lot of cash. then I thought hmmm better check the dashboard again and see how that actually works out.

I’m in rural wiltshire/gloucestershire – the cotswolds seems to be a big tourist destination. I don’t like stereotyping, but I have to admit the one of japanese tourists with their cameras (and their I <3 London baseball caps) seems to be pretty accurate!
Good old merseyside, I spent some time there a while back – I reckon my scouse accent is a lot better than my japanese one.
I don’t actually watch much TV, but assuming it’s available on the net somewhere I’ll check it out.
