Welcome aboard to Textfugu! I hope you can achieve your goal while enriching your life in the process. =)
@KisukeOboro: It kinda makes things complicated for the short term, but I think it really makes reviewing the Anki decks a much smoother process. Hang on there! 頑張ります!(^O^)/
It’s okay, I’m sure if there’s something else I’ll just deal with it when it comes.
Thanks a lot Hattori, most of my issues have already been solved. However, I would like to point out that even if you import directly from an original .anki file (a file I was using before switching to ‘Ultimate Vocab), the scheduling will still be the same. Exporting the old one and importing it again doesn’t change anything from what I’ve observed.
The settings that Koichi recommended for the ‘Change’ section that appears when you open a deck, however, will be reset no matter what you do. This was the reason for my second question.
As for the third question, I was asking whether the ‘old’ content in the new Ultimate Vocab was outdated or not. If that’s the case, should I get rid of it and start anew (something I really don’t want to do)?
Welcome to Textfugu! I also want to travel in Japan freely one day. Are there that many people speaking Japanese in California?
Hi, welcome aboard! I started Textfugu partly because I was tired of lousy fansubs in anime and the wait for them…Anyway, hope you can make even larger and more leaps forward in your Japanese skills.
Sure thing. =)
-Izanagi rules! ^__^
-Anime is awesome.Totally valid points!
Sounds like a reasonable goal. I wanted to become a linguist too, but I don’t think it would suit me. Anyway, best of luck to you in learning Japanese!

Any idea what this phrase means? I’m trying to understand an introduction to a soundtrack booklet. I’ve tried Lang-8 but no such luck-I couldn’t get what the corrections were trying to tell me either. Thanks in advance for any help!Oh, and here’s the link to the Lang-8 corrections if you wanna have a look at them: http://lang-8.com/220269/journals/1213099
No you’re not, count me in. XD
I got a kind of high from correcting when I first started out, but now, I try to write entries which are about about half the number of corrections I do.
Don’t worry if you don’t feel like writing posts, I got lazy for a while too. Keep a steady pace and post a short entry maybe once a week. G’luck!
September 26, 2011 at 5:33 am in reply to: The "I found some Japanese I don't understand" thread. #17715I need some help with a ‘mysterious’ kanji and a sentence.
First off, can anybody tell me how to pronounce ‘禾+真’ (sorry, I have no idea how to type it) and its meaning? I came up with nothing searching for this kanji in both Chinese and Japanese IME.
Next, could somebody help me make sense of this sentence?
“…、完全リセット状態からホントに曲が書けるのか不安に・・・・・・思う間もなく…”
I’m confused about ‘不安に’. Is it describing the previous sentence or the verb ’思う’?Thanks for any help! =)
@RavenTwoFive: No problem. As for your Facebook surge, why not turn the notifications off for a day?
Honestly, I can’t say it means much to me. Though I’d be happy to learn more about my family history, they aren’t many sources I can refer to (as far as I know) in Malaysia.
Anyway, sounds like a pretty diverse family you have there. :)
EDIT: Whoops, forgot the complimentary ‘Happy Belated Birthday!’ wish!

I see, well that clears things up a bit. Though, I have some problems understanding the text in the link you gave. I’m not that well versed in linguistics, I’m afraid.
@Michael: Yeah, I’ve almost finished the lesson.
@Kyle:
Here’s my original sentence:
寿司をたべたら高い寿司を食べくない
(What I meant to say was:’If I’m eating sushi, I don’t want to eat the expensive ones’.)And here’s the correction by my friend:
寿司をたべるんだったら高い寿司を食べたくない。When I asked her/him about it, she/he gave this reply:
食べるんだったら=食べるのだったら=食べるのであれば
“I don’t want to eat the expensive sushi if I eat sushi.”Still a tad confused, but glad to know that 食べたら is fine too.
