Cahill will be the second Aus player to play in the MLS after Danny Allsopp. Everton are kind of like a second team for me purely because of Cahill. I’ll definitely miss his towering headers and shadow boxing celebration. I’m still surprised he’s leaving Everton. He does still have a lot to offer the Prem. I would of preferred if he went to the A-League or somewhere in Asia. The MLS just doesn’t appeal to me.It’s great you’ve done Wing Chun. I’m seriously thinking about taking it up if I can find a class near me. Your right about any MA being beneficial for self defence reasons.
As for the Olympics, I’m mainly interested in the track and football events. I think it has lost some appeal over the years but admirable how it still manages to draw in big audiences.
Nice review Hashi. I like the fact they’re laminated too. I will be purchasing them at some point. He also mentions a digital version is in the works and might be available by Christmas. Depending on price, I might purchase those too.

You raise a good point. Koichi noted a few months ago, he plans to make a built in SRS app for TF. This would be better for users like yourself and anyone that has problems with Anki.@ Aikibujin
Thanks. I’m thinking of trying something like Wing Chun. I want to learn for self defence rather than competition. After watching Ip Man I got interested in Kung Fu movies. Any martial arts would interest me. What would you recommend?@ missing
Roddick has a temper on him. There’s a few Youtube videos of him going crazy at the umpires.@ Hashi
If I played Starcraft I might be interested. Is it a worldwide tournament or South Korea only?Welcome to TextFugu
Hello and welcome to TF :)
Hello and welcome to TF. Your job sounds awesome. Good luck with learning Japanese.
July 26, 2012 at 7:50 am in reply to: Re-doing decks: Does Ultimate Vocab cover + Kanji cover mostly everything? #33615I’m in a somewhat similar situation. I’ve been thinking of editing all my decks that only contain Kana, and switching them to Kanji. That way I will give myself a bit of a head start recognizing Kanji I haven’t studied yet.
I’m not entirely sure if the Ultimate Vocab decks contain vocab from the early chapters on TF.
The Olympics doesn’t officially begin til tomorrow but the Football started a day early. Japan just beat Spain 1-0. What a start. I’m rooting all the way for the Blue Samurai to win it. If they fail to then I hope either South Korea or New Zealand can.

It looks like Tim Cahill is going to leave Everton for the MLS. Still feel he has a lot to offer in the Prem. He didn’t play in many games for Everton last season but he’s still a class player. Without a doubt, an Aussie legend.I think Koichi means the first group of Verbs in Season 3 Chapter 7.
The WaniKani beta is still open to TF members http://www.wanikani.com/signup?utm_source=textfugu&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=dashboard
Aside from WaniKani, there’s https://www.readthekanji.com/ and I guess http://iknow.jp/ should be included although it’s not a dedicated Kanji learning tool. You will see lots of Kanji in their Core 6k series though.
I just study each day what Anki tells me. For new cards I always choose the next possible time for them to show up which is usually 1 day then 2 days, etc. Older cards I do either the middle option or the one furthest away.
I have forgotten the odd reading, meaning, vocab at times. If that happens I then mark it as a failed card and start from scratch.
I believe Bbvoncrumb is a Kiwi :D
Apologies, I misread your question. As far as I know, Anki can’t convert kana to kanji but it does give the reading automatically when you type or copy and paste kanji. I initially thought that’s what you meant. My bad.
@ Cassandra
Anki does it automatically for you. All you need to do is type the sentence out or copy and paste it. -
