Looks like a great place to live. When you go back to Japan, would you stay there again or try somewhere else?You’re welcome. I admire you for learning Japanese and it just goes to show that you can begin learning something new at any age in your life. I sometimes regret not starting earlier but I probably wouldn’t of had the interest or motivation to learn back then. I’ve been fortunate that I’ve had a lot of free time this year and have been able to make use of that time to study Japanese. Over the next few months that will change so I’m cramming in as much as possible before then.
Btw, I’ve always wondered what your avatar is about. Who is it and where is it from?
I haven’t needed to do this yet, but I believe you have to create a free online account here http://anki.ichi2.net/account/login.
Once you’ve done that, open up anki, then go file > download > personal deck, then enter your username and password. I’d imagine you then have the option of which decks to download and sync to other computers.
It doesn’t get any easier Tang. After the two list of verbs in Season 3, you have な and い adjectives plus adverbs to learn in Season 4. I’ve just began Season 5 and the workload has tripled compared to previous seasons. Don’t let that deter though. Once you plough away at it, it all comes together nicely and the feeling of completing a chapter is immense.
I do agree about the dip part. I think if an alternate way could be thought of so there isn’t so much vocab to learn at once and rather spread over so many pages or whatever, then it would be less discouraging for some people.

I’d imagine a few of those books are hard to find outside of Japan or importing them to be quite expensive. Still a great collection.@ kyle
Nice. Where abouts are you staying in Japan?@ クリス
A few of the Amazon reviews have also said that about Genki. Nothing too major to make the book unusable though. The price of some of these books are very hight. Genki 1 and 2 new editions are £60 each here in the UK. Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar is £35 and the next two in the series, Intermediate and Advanced also go upto £60.Woah, that’s an awesome collection Kiai. Which ones would you recommend? I’ve read good reviews on the Basic Kanji books and Minna no Nihongo.
@クリス
You’re pretty far into your studies. Congrats. That’s what I also discovered while looking at books I bought before studying on TF. It’s very hard to use them for self studying as a beginner. You either need to have gone through a few seasons on TF or have someone help you go through them. I plan to buy A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar. Which edition of Genki are you using? First edition from 1999 or the re-released edition from last year? I have the first edition in digital form. Core6k seems to be a popular choice among fellow TF’ers.@ Clement
According to Amazon, it’s being re-released next month on August 3rd. I can’t be sure but I think it’s the same book and no changes will be made. Basically what happened was, Kodansha International who was the previous publisher, closed down. It looks like another section of Kodansha LTD called Kodansha USA has taken over the rights. You can read more on the story here.@ クリス
Haha, yeah I suddenly noticed that earlier. I completely misread the title of that chapter. Edited all previous posts to the correct word.What season and chapter have you got upto?

Hello and welcome to the forums. How was Okinawa? The beaches look stunning.
Welcome to TF!
Finally finished those pesky “Nouny Adverbs” on Season 4-Chapter 5. Also added the example sentences on that page to a custom sentence deck in Anki.
