Do feel a bit sorry for Torres. He’s had an up and down time at Chelsea. Left out of the starting line up for most of Spain’s matches, but then gets the golden boot and scores in the final.
Now that the Euros are over, it’s pre season time and the European leagues start up again next month.
First up, charity shield between Man City vs. Chelsea.

Just out of curiousity, I YouTube’d “Japanese r sound” and came across this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHYhaa2w_C8I can hear alot of different ways Ryu is pronounced. One sounds like Ryu said really quick and you can just about hear the r sound. Another sounds like Yu with almost no r sound detected. Another sounds like Ru and the y is dropped.
With many different pronounciations, this does get confusing sadly.
To be honest, I haven’t done much listening to native material aside from TF content. But in that case, I already know what’s going to be said beforehand. One way to work out what’s being said, is to think if it’s a word you already know and go over in your mind if it has an r sound in it. Then you can decide by the sentence what the word is. It might not work all the time but it’s worth a shot.
Some of the older members here may be able to give you a better answer. I’m still early days in my studies. Approaching 4 months almost.

Their style of play has changed since the World Cup, I think that’s the way Del Bosque wanted it though. Play boring in the group stages, quarters and semi, then let loose in the final. It threw Italy off and made it more unpredictable.
David Villa has been a big miss for them too. Had he played, they may have been more attacking. Del Bosque didn’t feel confident enough in Torres to lead the line for most of the tournament.
Bring on World Cup 2014. I’m begging for either Japan, South Korea, or Aus to win. Bored of European and South American teams haha.
About to start Kanji 4.7 and Kanji vocab 4.7 lol. I was suprised at my retention for older Kanji vocab and the on’yomi readings. I had forgotten a couple of readings but the rest seemed to be ok.
That sucks. I’ve had to fix a few decks myself. Added in some vocab and edited a wrong word on one of them. Forget which card it was now.
Spain certainly did show up and saved the best til last. They battered Italy. At the same time, they made history four times apparently, 1) biggest scoreline in a final, 2) back to back european championship wins, 3) only team to win the european championships three times and 4) only team to win three major tournaments in a row.
Italy simply weren’t good enough. Would of been interesting if Germany had got to the final instead. That’s what makes football a strange game.
Nice to see Mata get some game time and score. He’ll develop into a world class player in a few years.
