Welcome to TextFugu, Rachel!
Your reasons sound brilliant.
Good luck learning Japanese.
Welcome to TextFugu, mkiku!
Do you mind telling us a little bit more about yourself? For example, who you are, your interests/hobbies, what interests you about Japan (if you have any interests about Japan)?
Good luck learning Japanese.
Yeah but I think you’d require a great good deal (intermediate at the very least) of Japanese to be able to understand anything.
DS Kanji games are fun – I regularly use one at my Japanese tutors house. It’s a great way to help memorise kanji (including the stroke order) and it teaches you the kanji in grade order. You can also learn words from the game and there are other features I haven’t tried yet.
The only downside is that it’s in 100% Japanese with no English whatsoever.
@Mister, I already had the second う in there but forgot to star it. And I only correct the obvious mistakes, damnit!
Me and my Japanese Tutor (along with her 2 daughters) are currently working through a children’s book – I’ve forgotten what it’s called though.
Me and my Japanese Tutor worked through Little Red Riding Hood (赤ずきんちゃん) a few months ago.I really like working through them – the kanji all have the furigana next to them for easy reading and whilst working through the books (translating them and learning new words) a lot of the kanji which come up frequently I end up knowing and recognising without the need of the furigana.

I wouldn’t recommend watching a movie just for the sake of it or just because it’s on a list you want to complete.
I’d recommend going through the list and only watching movies you’d genuinely wish to watch and which interest you. Otherwise you’re highly likely to give up on this goal as it’ll become a chore and movies shouldn’t be a chore to watch – they should be entertaining and fun.Welcome to TextFugu, Philip!
Would you mind telling us more about who you are and why you chose Japan or maybe how you found TextFugu?
Good luck learning Japanese.
This is where Winter makes her debut…
When I saw Perfume on the track listing for Cars 2 I was happy that not only there was going to be a Japanese song in the movie but from one of my favourite trios! I’m so excited to see what they get up to in Tokyo and how the movie portrays it.
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOVIE FOR 5 YEARS! I’M SO EXCITED!
On a side note: It was released in the US today so PLEASE DON’T RUIN THE PLOT FOR ME AMERICANS. I also wish I lived in America now.
