Another thing I do I suppose it try to cook Japanese meals, I have the Just Bento Cookbook and it is AWESOME. I’ve become really fond of tamagoyaki. :d
Had this for lunch. I don’t know what it is about lime-chili-shrimp cup noodles, but I am addicted to them. :d
こんばんわ!
Welcome to the community! I live in central Missouri and could only dream of having IRL Japanese friends XD.
I wish you the best of luck in your studies!
よろしくね~
^ How fortunate! I’m excited for you.
How could this thread not have taken off?
Anyway, made my first sushi roll yesterday (not bad if I do say so myself ^^). Salmon and cucumber, with some のりたまごやき。Yum!
REVIVE!
Welcome! That’s so exciting that you get to visit Japan! I wish you the best of luck in your studies and a safe/ AWESOME trip in Nov.
P.S. ” (I’m also quite curious how they would react to someone who looks like me.) ” – What DO you look like? Haha, this sentence makes you sound ridiculous looking (not that you are!).
This is silly!
lilkittychan – You have been learning Japanese for 3 weeks, only know some Hiragana and no Katakana/ Kanji. Yet you have posted things and translated things…? I’m no master of advice but I think it can only be fair that you use what you /know/. I make it a point that I don’t use any characters/words I don’t understand because I feel like I would be cheating myself (and the others who read it). As for Lang-8 : maybe you could clarify in your entries that you only know Hiragana so that they don’t correct you beyond your comprehension? Maybe you should just take a step back, cool off, and focus more on learning the Japanese basics rather than getting ahead of yourself in all these social programs… I don’t know.
I don’t really see what the big deal is about anything. I mean it is the internet afterall…
I was just looking through the market the other day and was bummed that Google IME app only had Korean and Mandarin but no Japanese! So I didn’t know which to choose and gave up (>.<;). But now I don't have to think about it.
Thanks for the tip, Rob! (Can I call you Rob? Too late.)
One would think that textfugu would be the last forum to get trolled XD.
I thought the same thing. I listen to Japanese things while I knit sometimes. Every now and then I’ll pick up something I understand. ~exciting~
