    I am a fourth year IT major at a small school in upstate New York.

    I totally hear you with the wanting to teach English in Japan despite it being completely separate to a technical background. I feel the same way, hahahaha.

    I too am very interested in Japanese due to liking their culture, how their society functions, and such. Japan functions very, very differently from the United States, where I am from.

    I wish you the best on your TextFugu adventure. Feel free to post any questions/comments/concerns here. I can try to help, granted I am a novice, but I really enjoy helping people.

    Welcome! I’m in college as well, senior Information Technology major. I’m a programmer by trade so I totally get you on the lack of sleep thing. Haha

    TextFugu has been an absolutely fantastic resource thus far. I’ve tried many and I’ve got to say, you certainly chose a fantastic resource to get serious with. Definitely feel free to update with progress/frustrations/questions! (I can try to help, though, I’m not very advanced myself… yet!)

    I too have learned some Japanese in the past (just Hiragana for me) and burned out, thus losing interest, so I certainly understand where you’re coming from.

    Good luck to you with your studies! You can definitely accomplish your Japanese goals with this awesome site/community and some determination! Be sure to update with progress/frustrations and such! :D
